I just finished a longer piece.

I know Theo recently said he prefers Notion to Obsidian because he heavily depends on their tables and calendar.

But I like to write raw Markdown on a desktop operating system with a physical keyboard.

I draft in the editor. Copy the final version over my Astro/Tailwind/Cloudflare site. Open Procreate to make a banner image. Cut a branch. Commit the files. Open a PR. And Rebase it in the day I want to.

Or I’ll use the friend flag and push to master.

Every once in a while I’ll take a break from listening to a video essay when I walk the pup and do some writing without distractions.

I was trying to highlight a paragraph.

First of all, how is it 2026 and text selection on a capacitive touch screen still this bad.

Second, why is “Apple Intelligence” rewrite right there in the center of the auto complete row where it is easy to accidentally press.

Third, why does it take up half your screen when the accident does happen.

Fourth, why is it impossible to dismiss it without killing the Obsidian instance.

I used to love phones.

The Samsung Impression. Nexus 5. And OnePlus One.

Out of all the ones I owned or used.

My top three.

But the 2nd generation iPod Touch was my gateway drug.

Throwback to having to jailbreak just to get backgrounds and folders.

But back to the point.

I’m a grown adult, I don’t need you to write for me.

I shocked my friends when I switched to Computer Science, and just a little exposure to Unix convinced me to get the early 2015 Retina 13” MacBook Pro.

Seriously Bill, why has Windows always made it such a pain to modify your PATH variables.

For years I recommended Apple products because even though I like Linux, most people want easy.

But damn are y’all making it hard to root for your corner.
