I previously detailed eight useful techniques I took away from my time in a religious institution.
I left out a ninth.
Call it either unconscious or involuntary, it’s the one that has been the most durable routine.
The OG Breathwork.
Best to practice after clearing your nostrils with some jal neti.
Hamsa Yoga, or as I originally learned it in 2012 at the shivir in Yosemite, Soham Sadhana.
It’s quite simple.
Take a deep loud inhale. In that breath you do not merely intake Prana, but you consume Brahman itself.
As you hold it in, let it spread through your body.
On the exhale, violently breathe out the Ahamkar.
Simple enough to do without a special place or time. Even doable at a desk while waiting for something to build or a pipeline to finish. After a while, when you inhale, your brain just fills in a So, and on the exhale it tosses out a Ham.
