I was at the Dallas Software Developers meetup.

One of the young fellas mentioned how they had recently started using Neovim (btw).

So of course the usual joke about exiting.

They countered with :wq and :q!.

It appears that the youths do not know the old magic.

So I got to have my early greybeard moment and teach them the wonders of Shift + ZZ and Shift + ZQ.

Pretty solid evening, got to talk about Deno, Laravel, and Vim. Surprisingly hard to find normies who want to talk about them.

That being said, I main Jetbrains for work and Zed for home. Yeah yeah, I’m 100% a shill. (Neo)vi(m) is an alt that’s always good to know. I feel like there’s an XKCD about saving the day by knowing some escape command.
