Vyasa

the OG compiler

I’ve been thinking about Veda Vyasa. Assuming some historical accuracy to the story. He is also the one who compiled the Mahabharata.

The son of Matsyagandha, he watched his entire family slaughter themselves over something as mundane as a kingdom. The Gita was profound. The actual objective of the Battle of Kurukshetra was not.

According to the story. He didn’t write it himself. Instead Vighnaraja himself was invoked to be his scribe. The Elephant Headed One said that once he starts writing, he cannot stop. The Original GCC said not a problem, this is a story I intimately know.

Sounds like he was about to start a high friction task and steadied his nerves.

And so he narrated. Lambodara made the defining sacrifice that defines his face. Again, according to the stories, the only reason we have the history for the kingdom that formed the foundation of this Mother that we call Bharat is because of that yagya. One man’s grief at the cost of establishing Dharma resulted in a culture’s history. One man’s grief resulted in Ekadanta.
